The History Department of the Faculty of Education for the Humanities at Wasit University organized an awareness seminar entitled "Reducing violent extremism leading to terrorism") the aim of the symposium to introduce the phenomenon of terrorism and to demonstrate social and moral responsibility, which would strengthen government efforts in confronting it and work to develop a comprehensive and integrated strategy, in addition to strengthening the efforts of the government and cooperation with community organizations at home and abroad in addressing the phenomenon of extremism in addition to increasing religious and cultural awareness among the members of society, especially the youth group, and included the symposium. Dr. Afrah Al-Mufraji moderated several research papers presented by professors and specialists from inside and outside the university and recommended the need to formulate educational and cultural youth programs, focus on the culture of pluralism and diversity and promote peaceful coexistence among all segments of society.
