As part of the University of Wasit’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth)—the College of Medicine organized a workshop entitled “Occupational Burnout in Workplaces: Psychosocial Aspects and Coping Mechanisms” on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The workshop was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Naseer Kadhim Al-Maliki, Dean of the College of Medicine, along with vice deans, faculty members, and administrative staff. It was presented by Dr. Mahdi Abdul Kareem, Consultant Psychiatrist, and Dr. Taif Al-Qaisi.

The workshop focused on highlighting the phenomenon of occupational burnout in workplaces and its negative psychological and social impacts. It also presented scientific and practical strategies for coping with work-related stress. The event emphasized the importance of creating a healthy and supportive work environment, aligning with ongoing efforts to enhance mental well-being and improve the quality of professional life within educational and healthcare institutions.
