








President of Wasit University Conducts Field Visit to Oversee the Development of the College of Medicine Laboratories to Meet Accreditation Standards and Enhance Output Quality
As part of his ongoing commitment to enhancing academic and scientific performance, Professor Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Uqabi, President of Wasit University, conducted a field inspection visit to the laboratories of the College of Medicine to monitor the progress of work and assess the laboratories’ compliance with national and international accreditation standards.
During his tour, the University President reviewed the newly introduced equipment implemented under the development plan and emphasized the importance of ensuring an integrated educational and practical environment that supports academic quality requirements and contributes to the preparation of medical students with a high level of scientific and professional competence, thus reinforcing their vital role in serving society and improving the healthcare sector.
Professor Dr. Al-Uqabi affirmed that Wasit University prioritizes educational quality and the development of scientific infrastructure, noting that achieving laboratory accreditation standards is a fundamental pillar in ensuring the graduation of highly competitive professionals both locally and regionally. He also stressed the necessity of continually updating laboratory tools and equipment and of training academic and technical staff on best international practices in laboratory management and operations.
The University President highlighted that scientific laboratories are not merely supportive educational environments but represent a core component in developing students’ skills and practical applications, directly impacting their professional competence upon entering the labor market or pursuing postgraduate studies.
