



College of Fine Arts Hosts Seminar on Women’s Success Stories in Support of Gender Equality and Student Empowerment
In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5: Gender Equality, Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Fine Arts – Wasit University organized an educational seminar titled “Success Stories” aimed at highlighting inspiring examples of successful women as positive role models for society.
The seminar sought to motivate and empower female students to face challenges with confidence and determination, by showcasing real-life stories of women who have overcome significant social and cultural barriers. Among the most prominent examples was the story of Zaha Hadid, the renowned Iraqi architect, who demonstrated that creativity knows no limits.
The event also explored the historical and ongoing challenges faced by Iraqi women, and how they have triumphed to achieve remarkable accomplishments across various fields. In addition, some students shared their own personal stories and challenges, adding a relatable and interactive dimension to the discussion.
The seminar witnessed strong engagement from attendees, who expressed their admiration for the stories presented and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in enhancing awareness of Iraqi women’s history and leadership, while fostering an educational environment that supports diversity, ambition, and equal opportunity.
