Under the esteemed patronage of Professor Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Uqabi, President of the University of Wasit, and the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, the Dr. Ata Kati Hall at the College hosted the scientific event titled “One-Day Symposium on Infectious Diseases and Molecular Medicine.”

The symposium featured a distinguished selection of research projects presented by postgraduate students from the Department of Medical Microbiology, with active participation from faculty members of the department. The event was attended by the university’s Vice Presidents, the Dean of the College, along with a number of faculty members and students. A scientific poster exhibition was also held, showcasing innovative and in-depth research outputs that received wide appreciation for their relevance in the fields of diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention.

In his speech, the university’s Vice President for Scientific Affairs emphasized the importance of continuing to support student research initiatives, praising the quality and originality of the presented projects. He also stressed the need to foster this scientific approach, given its vital role in developing students’ research skills, keeping pace with advancements in modern medicine, and enhancing the academic and research standing of both the College of Medicine and the University of Wasit.
