College of Medicine Organizes Awareness Campaign on Viral Hemorrhagic Fever
As part of its commitment to public health awareness and community service, the College of Medicine at Wasit University organized a comprehensive awareness campaign on Viral Hemorrhagic Fever (VHF) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rana Hussein Raheema and Asst. Prof. Dr. Taif Kareem Khalaf. The campaign aimed to educate the public about the nature of the disease, its modes of transmission, key symptoms, and effective prevention measures.
The campaign featured the distribution of informative brochures containing simplified scientific information and emphasized the importance of early detection and seeking medical care upon the onset of symptoms. Organizers ensured that the awareness messages were communicated in a clear and accessible manner to reach the widest possible audience.
Prof. Dr. Rana Hussein Raheema highlighted the importance of such initiatives in raising public health awareness, noting that health education is the first and most essential step in preventing infectious diseases—particularly those that pose a significant threat to public health.
