Department of Missions and Cultural Relations

Brief :

The department was established since the founding of our ancient university in 2003 and its location is in the university presidency building. It is one of the departments of the effective university presidency. It works in contact with the University of Wasit with local, Arab, regional and international universities through holding many scientific and cultural cooperation programs, which made the university join the scientific, artistic, cultural and technological development .

Vision :

Keeping pace with the University of Wasit and its interaction with the discreet local and international universities and its cooperation with other discreet institutions inside and outside Iraq .

Message :

Openness and communication with discreet universities and related institutions, concluding fruitful scientific programs in various fields, exchanging experiences, facilitating and encouraging academic, scientific and cultural exchange between employees and students of Wasit University with other universities .

Goals :

1- We facilitate the procedures for scholarships and follow-up of students and researchers from the university to the reputable universities .

2- Communicating with reputable recognized universities for the purpose of holding scientific, academic and cultural cooperation programs .

3- Facilitating the procedures for dispatching teachers and their academic interaction through participation in conferences, research missions, joint supervision, visiting professorship, post-doctoral studies or sabbaticals .

4- Encouraging lectures and joint scientific research and forming specialized research teams for researchers from outside Wasit University .

5- The pursuit of scholarships .

6- Coordinating initiatives related to cultural activities .

Department tasks :

1. Signing memorandums of understanding and cooperation programs with local, Arab, regional and international universities recognized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research .
2. Hosting professors from outside the university to participate in conferences, seminars, and scientific exhibitions .
3. Follow-up on the disengagement and the dispatched student’s studies and his academic suspension, his academic extensions with the academic extensions outside Iraq .
4. Following up and issuing orders to dispatch teachers to participate in conferences and various scientific activities .

Wasit University Retrieval Center :

The department works to receive requests and transactions for extracting letters and dissertations from private alimony students who obtained their certificates from outside Iraq for the purpose of completing the process of equivalence and evaluating their certificates .

International students :

Residents and foreign students are allowed to apply to join the faculties of Wasit University, according to certain conditions announced by the Ministry. Recently, the Council of Wasit University agreed to accept foreign students and residents to study academic programs or scientific specializations available at Wasit University .
