The Al-Ain Foundation for Social Care honored Professor Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Aqabi, President of Wasit University, with the Creativity Shield in recognition of the university’s continued support for the foundation’s humanitarian efforts. The award was presented during the central ceremony of the ninth edition of the “Basmat Khair” initiative, held at the foundation’s headquarters in Al-Kadhimiya, Baghdad.

The event was attended by several university and institute presidents from across Iraq, along with dozens of graduating students who chose to donate their graduation expenses to support Iraqi orphans. The ceremony featured poetic and choral performances, in addition to a symbolic tribute where graduating students honored a group of Al-Ain’s orphaned youth.

This year’s edition of Basmat Khair witnessed the active participation of 19 universities and institutes from various provinces. Students exemplified the spirit of social solidarity by contributing a total of 1,844 charitable shares, all of which were allocated to support the foundation’s ongoing charitable projects and programs aimed at aiding orphans, the poor, and medically vulnerable individuals.
