The Committee for Investing the Energies of Scholarship Students at Wasit University held the second forum for scholarship students and returning competencies under the slogan "Together to develop our universities", in the Faculty of Engineering, with the participation of a number of university professors and students returning from scholarships.

The forum was opened by the President of Wasit University, Prof. Dr. Mazen Al-Hasani, who explained in his speech: Wasit University seeks to achieve serious ambitions and raise the scientific and academic level.

Al-Hasani added: The university, with the efforts of all its cadres, has worked for some time to develop advanced plans and use all means aimed at including them in the international rankings. Among these plans is to invest all the experiences and expertise of international universities and transfer them through scholarship students to develop the academic reality at the university level and from there to enter into force in our dear country in general.

The Assistant President of Wasit University, Prof. Dr. Sabih Lafta, said that the university has developed specific strategies to achieve its goals at the academic and scientific level comprehensively, and that the Committee for Investing the Energies of Scholarship Students has taken it upon itself to conduct scientific activities, including this forum, to benefit from international experiences to raise the level of the university to become in the ranks of universities in the countries of scholarship, including achieving ministerial goals to improve the reality of our beloved country.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ali Nasser Helou, welcomed the attendees and indicated that the staff of the Faculty of Engineering, including a large group of returning scholarship students, is actively working to supplement the academic work with the latest international methods and their applications at the level of undergraduate and postgraduate students on the one hand and in the field of scientific research on the other hand.

For her part, Dr. Aida Hamid Al-Obaidi, member of the Ministerial Committee for the project of investing the energies of scholarship students in the Ministry and head of the Committee for investing the energies of scholarship students at Wasit University, indicated a set of proposals and projects completed by the committee at the university, including the establishment of this forum and continuing to work to benefit from international experiences and the continuation of joint cooperation between our university with international universities.

The forum included the launch of the visiting professor program, by hosting professors specialized in various scientific fields to deliver important research papers that serve the scientific and applied reality.

The first lecture in the forum was delivered by the scientific assistant at the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dahid, where he presented the achievements of the University of Technology in the field of entering international rankings, including the British Times classification. During his research, he explained the obstacles facing universities and developed effective solutions in order to introduce universities to international rankings through a presentation of the latest tables of international rankings, and indicating the axes on which international institutions rely to include universities in the rankings.

The forum was also hosted by Prof. Dr. Hamed Al-Ruwaishidi from Brunel University in the United Kingdom, speaking about the latest developments in the field of communications at the global level, and explained that he heads a research group working on the latest generations in communications and the Internet, including the sixth generation and its many benefits at the level of data transfer and communications.

The third lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Diaa Al-Jumaili from Liverpool John Moores University University in the United Kingdom, the lecture focused on the topic of water shortage and its effects on the level of our beloved country. In his research, he spoke about the potential of artificial intelligence in solving water issues in Iraq.
