As part of Wasit University’s ongoing efforts to enhance the infrastructure of its colleges—particularly the College of Veterinary Medicine—University President Prof. Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Uqabi, Wasit Governor Dr. Mohammed Jameel Al-Mayahi, and an engineering team led by Prof. Dr. Ali Nasser Helou from the College of Engineering, conducted a field visit to the college located in Al-Hayy district.

This visit comes in line with the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, aimed at improving the university environment and strengthening administrative and service facilities. The project also receives direct support from the Governor of Wasit, who allocated funding for the construction of a new college building that will include an administrative complex as well as service and recreational facilities.

During the visit, the university president and the governor reviewed the architectural designs for the new building, while engineering teams began site assessments and initial design planning based on modern standards, with the goal of completing the project within a set timeline.

The University President affirmed that this step marks a significant milestone in improving the academic environment at the College of Veterinary Medicine. He expressed his deep appreciation to the Governor for his generous initiative and continuous support of the university’s leadership and colleges in developing a comprehensive infrastructure plan that aims to provide a fully integrated educational environment for both students and academic staff.
