Professor Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Uqabi, President of the University of Wasit, met with Yousef Al-Kalabi, Member of the Iraqi Parliament representing Wasit Governorate, to explore ways of enhancing collaboration between the university and the legislative authority.

During the meeting, both sides discussed several key issues related to the academic and educational landscape of the governorate, as well as possible avenues for supporting the university in scientific, administrative, and legislative domains to improve institutional performance and better serve students and the local community.

Dr. Al-Uqabi emphasized the importance of maintaining active communication with parliamentary representatives to ensure synergy between educational institutions and legislative bodies. He also praised MP Al-Kalabi for his continued support of the governorate’s institutions, particularly the University of Wasit.

For his part, MP Al-Kalabi expressed his appreciation for the university’s efforts in advancing education and research, affirming his readiness to provide the necessary support to overcome challenges and contribute to the development of higher education in Wasit.
