

Wasit University Ranks Second Nationally in Humanitarian Index for Supporting Al-Ain Social Care Foundation, Advancing Sustainable Development Goals
Demonstrating a strong commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian values, Wasit University achieved second place out of 19 Iraqi universities and institutes participating in the 9th edition of the “Basmat Khair” (Mark of Goodness) student initiative, in partnership with Al-Ain Social Care Foundation, a leading humanitarian organization in Iraq.
President of Wasit University, Prof. Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Uqabi, emphasized:
“We are proud of this humanitarian achievement, which reflects the university’s deep commitment to its social mission and its role in shaping conscious, engaged generations. Supporting orphans is a moral and humanitarian duty, and Wasit University remains committed to instilling a culture of volunteerism and charitable work among its students and staff”.
This recognition supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
