Wasit University Strengthens International Cybersecurity Partnerships in Support of Sustainable Development Goals
In a step that reflects its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure)—the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at Wasit University held a joint meeting with representatives from EC-Council, a leading global organization specializing in cybersecurity and information technology.
This meeting comes as part of the college’s continuous efforts to enhance academic collaboration with reputable international institutions and to integrate global expertise into a modern educational system that empowers students and equips them for the digital job market.
The discussion covered several key areas, including the development of academic curricula in line with international cybersecurity standards, the provision of free accredited training programs for both students and academic staff, and opportunities to obtain international certifications in information security, ethical hacking, and related technical fields.
At the end of the meeting, both parties expressed their intention to sign a future memorandum of understanding that would establish a long-term collaboration. This partnership aims to enhance the quality of technical education at Wasit University and contribute to economic and social development by preparing qualified graduates with the skills needed to meet digital challenges.
This initiative is part of the college’s broader vision to keep pace with rapid global technological advancements, foster a sustainable learning environment, and support innovation and youth integration into both local and international labor markets.
