Wasit University’s College of Medicine Launches Autism Awareness Campaign in Support of Sustainable Development Goals
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education)—the College of Medicine at Wasit University organized an extensive awareness campaign titled #Autism_Symptoms. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, with the active participation of fourth-year students enrolled in the Psychological Counseling course, alongside a group of faculty members.
The campaign aimed to raise community awareness about the symptoms of autism spectrum disorder, highlighting the importance of early detection and effective intervention to improve the quality of life for those affected and support their families. The event also focused on providing participants with accurate scientific and practical information to challenge the stereotypes commonly associated with autism.
This initiative is part of a broader series of activities undertaken by the College of Medicine to promote health and psychological awareness within the local community, contributing to the development of a well-informed society capable of addressing health and behavioral challenges responsibly and effectively.
