Within the Visiting Professor Program
Wasit University hosts the Undersecretary of the Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Affairs
The Committee for Investing the Energies of Scholarship Students at Wasit University, within the visiting professor program, hosted the Undersecretary of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Affairs (Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Dahed Kased).
The visiting guest gave a scientific lecture entitled (Ranking of Iraqi Universities in International Rankings), including the British Times classification and the active factors in achieving higher ranks than the ranks currently achieved.
In his lecture, Dr. Dahed touched on the aspects related to the rise of Iraqi universities in the classification of the British Times, which have a great impact on raising the scientific level and academic scientific reputation of universities in international forums and scientific forums, both academic and research, as he pointed to the factors in which high points can be achieved, such as publishing in Clarivate containers, increasing the percentage of citations in scientific research, and the work of research groups because of their active role in compensating for points that are difficult to achieve, especially On the subject of the presence of foreign professors and foreign students in Iraqi universities.
Dr. Dahed also reviewed tables for more than five years that showed how some Iraqi universities were able to raise their ranking in the British Times classification and the fields that enabled them to do so. He pointed out that some Iraqi universities, through the hard work of their scientific and administrative cadres, have made progress in their ranking in the classification, including the University of Technology through the publication of research in international containers, participation in international scientific conferences for researchers, and scientific cooperation between universities, whether local or international.
Prof. Dahed, a specialist in mechanical engineering and power generation, holds a PhD from the University of Technology, part of which required research work at Brunel University in the United Kingdom. He has been a member of a number of unions, including the Iraqi Engineers Association and the American Society of Engineers since 2000. He also worked as a consulting engineer in a range of projects related to energy and others, as well as obtaining four patents in different scientific fields and has more than 160 letters of thanks and appreciation for his dedication to work, research and academic.
