

Wasit University Organizes Preliminary Exams for the “A Nation that Reads” Competition – Season Two, 2025
Under the generous patronage of the General Secretariat of the Holy Hussaini Shrine, with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the direct supervision of the President of Wasit University, Professor Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Aqabi, and the follow-up of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Sbeih Lafta, the University of Wasit is organizing the preliminary exams for the second season of the “A Nation that Reads” competition for 2025. These exams will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, for students registered in the competition within the university.
As for the exams designated for Wasit Province, which include:
Students of Wasit University
Students from private universities and colleges within the province
Students who have dropped out of school
Graduates who are 24 years old or younger
They are scheduled to take place—God willing—on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology – Wasit University, starting at 9:00 a.m.
In line with the university administration’s directives, a specialized academic committee composed of distinguished faculty members has been formed to oversee these preliminary exams. The goal is to select the most qualified candidates from both within and outside the university, based on eligibility criteria, to advance to the next stage of the national competition “A Nation that Reads – 2025”.
The exam topics will cover the following areas:
Quranic Interpretation
Islamic Thought
Ethics
Arabic Literature
Management and Economics
Human Development
Philosophy and Logic
Sciences
Social Studies
Artificial Intelligence
This initiative aims to promote a culture of knowledge and reading, and to contribute to the development of an enlightened and well-educated generation equipped with intellectual, analytical, and scientific skills.
