Faculty of Engineering discusses master's thesis entitled Evaluating the Spring Neighborhood Sewage Collection System using Geomatics Techniques
I discussed a master's thesis in the Faculty of Engineering at Wasit University entitled "Evaluating the sewage collection system for the spring district using geomatics techniques"
The letter, submitted by student Neriman Naima Abd, aims to assess the performance of the rainwater system through swmm and to detect the impact of the estuary of the rain network on the water flat of the Tigris River.
The study included the preparation of the SWMM model and the identification of model parameters through the network chart and arcGIS map and used the curve number model as an infiltration model in estimating runoff and dynamic wave method in guiding the flow of hydraulic tubes,
Swmm model results showed flooding in some parts of the network when simulating the network as a rain network only and increasing with increased periods of frequent rainfall, as floods in the network increased and took longer flooding after the addition of sewage amounts to the rain network,
The study proposed redesigning flooded network parts to reduce flooding.
The results of the research found that the percentage of contaminated water reached 17.97% as a result of the discharge of sewage directly from the mouth of the rain system and that the percentage of contaminated water reached 17.97% as a result of the discharge of sewage from the mouth of the rain network directly to the river without treatment.
