Wasit University discusses doctoral thesis on the impact of banking performance on economic growth under ICT
The Faculty of Management and Economics at Wasit University discussed the doctoral thesis tagged (measuring and analyzing the impact of banking performance on the potential for economic growth under ICT selected countries, the thesis presented by the student (Kawtar Karim Abdul Razzaq) to clarify the relationship between the development of the banking sector and economic growth in the Arab countries research sample, and to learn about the reality of banking activity in the sample countries, as well as to identify the role of banks' use of ICT in activating banking activity for selected countries. The role played by the Iraqi banking sector reflects the situation determined by the movement of the economy, which has defined the dimensions of banking activity in the light of interlocking trends witnessed by the Iraqi economy, and this sector like other economic sectors. The study demonstrated that political and economic stability plays a major role in the development and advancement of the banking sector in order to contribute effectively to gdp, and that economic diversification plays a very clear role in achieving economic growth and not relying on one side affected by global economic crises, which has distinguished the economies of the sample countries from the Iraqi economy, which depends on the oil sector and the lack of infrastructure for banks in line with technological development in this area.
