The President of Wasit University, Professor Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Aqabi, participated in a specialized scientific symposium on investigation and inquiry into corruption cases, at the invitation of the Governor of Wasit, Dr. Muhammad Jameel Al-Mayahi.

The symposium, organized by the Wasit Investigations Office of the Federal Integrity Commission, addressed the administrative structure of the office and its operational mechanisms. It also reviewed the Integrity Commission Law and the tools for combating administrative and financial corruption.

Additionally, the symposium discussed the role of the governorate and its executive institutions in supporting judicial authorities and the Investigations Office in uncovering corruption crimes. It also highlighted the challenges institutions face in dealing with the commission and proposed solutions to promote a culture of integrity and transparency.
