



Workshop at Wasit University on “Tree Planting for a Sustainable Future”
The Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Security Unit at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Wasit University, organized a workshop titled “Tree Planting for a Sustainable Future” as part of the university’s efforts to raise awareness about environmental conservation and combat climate change.
The workshop aimed to highlight the environmental, health, and economic benefits of tree planting, encourage participants to contribute to expanding green spaces within their communities, and promote awareness of afforestation as a key strategy in mitigating climate change.
The workshop concluded with several key recommendations, including:
Encouraging tree planting in homes, gardens, schools, and institutions.
Supporting local and global tree-planting initiatives and organizing awareness campaigns on the importance of afforestation.
Enhancing the role of educational institutions in promoting a culture of tree planting.
Urging government institutions to increase green spaces in urban areas.
This workshop reflects Wasit University commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, aligning with global efforts to create a healthier and more sustainable future.
