





Wasit University Honors Its International Students as Part of an Initiative to Promote Academic and Humanitarian Solidarity
As part of its ongoing efforts to foster a supportive academic environment for international students, Wasit University honored a group of its foreign students under the “Study in Iraq” initiative. The event was organized in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan as a gesture of appreciation for their academic dedication and to reinforce the values of brotherhood and tolerance.
The honoring ceremony was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Aqabi, the university president, in coordination with the University Council Secretariat and the Women’s Affairs Division. This initiative aims to enhance the sense of belonging among international students and support their academic journey within an environment that embraces cultural and intellectual diversity.
In his remarks, the university president emphasized that this initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to providing a comprehensive academic and social climate that empowers international students both academically and humanely.
