Study at Wasit University discusses porous aluminum chips
Wasit University's Faculty of Science discussed a master's thesis entitled "Manufacturing and characteristics of porous aluminum chips by electrochemical anode". The study, presented by student Uday Hatem Akkar, aimed to study the effect of electrochemical anode process on the thickness and composition of the oxide layer (diameter of the resulting pores, interclassal distances, density and depth). The study found that the diameter of the pores is directly proportional to the applied voltage, and inversely with the temperature and concentration of oxalic acid and that the nano pores made of high purity aluminum are more rounded than those made in aluminum alloys.
