Among the purposeful activities that serve the community, the Department of Sociology at wasit University's Faculty of Literature, in collaboration with the Wasti Cultural House and the Assur Foundation for Development and Human Rights, held a dialogue seminar entitled "Electronic extortion _ its causes_ and methods of treatment" in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Fida Mohsen al-Mawla, Dr. Fahad Aweid, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and a number of professors, staff and guests. The seminar aims to give a comprehensive explanation of the danger of electronic blackmail, and to draw the attention of young people to the dangers of this phenomenon and the correct use of social media. It also addressed the concept of electronic extortion and identifying the most prominent causes of extortion, methods of prevention and treatment and clarifying the social and psychological effects of electronic extortion. She called for audio and video awareness through seminars and radio programs about the dangers of this phenomenon, and to fill the leisure time of young people with useful things.
