The Faculty of Literature at Wasit University in cooperation with the Faculty of Sports Education – Girls at Helwan University of Egypt held an electronic workshop entitled (Nanotechnology and some of its applications) with the participation of the President of the University Professor Dr. Mazen Al-Hasani and the Dean of the Faculty of Literature Dr. Fida Al Mawla.
The workshop, moderated by Dr. Walid Abdel Amir of Germany and delivered by Dr. Doaa Mohammed Mahmoud Hammat of Helwan University of Egypt, aims to introduce the importance of nanotechnology at the moment, which is one of the most important modern sciences in all natural, engineering, medical and agricultural sciences, especially since it is classified as a fifth generation of technical development, the world today stands on the threshold of a huge scientific revolution no less important than the industrial revolution that moved man to the era of modern machines and the age of space.
The lecture also included a thorough explanation of nanotechnology and its uses, from the simple explanation of the meaning of the word "nano", which has increased the world's passion for it in recent times, the brilliant discoveries, various technological applications and related achievements, and how the technological revolution has passed through multiple generations to the fifth generation separate from clarifying the basics of this science and its early beginnings at the hands of physicists and the foundations that distinguished it from the rest of the sciences with an explanation of the most important types discovered in the application of nanomaterials and its extensive applications starting from Of various electronic applications and applications industrial, agricultural, medical and other applications that serve humanity in the 21st century.
The importance of this science in fighting the emerging Covid-19 epidemic has also been discussed and research is under way by scientists in this field to use this bioscience to find an effective drug as soon as possible.
The lecture outlined the most important future projects of this bioscience with a reference to the large amounts allocated to it by the great powers, and a presentation of some of the documentaries of these applications in our time.
Al-Warsa has made several recommendations, including attention to this science as it is a gateway to technical development in all areas.
He urged researchers to engage their research with the latest developments in this science, especially with regard to research that would develop a vaccine or treatment for the current emerging Corona virus, as well as the introduction of nanotechnology as a basic material in the curriculum of preliminary and higher studies within the natural, engineering, medical and agricultural sciences, in addition to the establishment of scientific courses and seminars to find out the latest developments in nanoscience.
