Wasit University's Faculty of Engineering discussed the tagged master's thesis (a new way to assess corrosion in concrete in the hydraulic structure).
The letter prepared by student Mustafa Hilal Hamidi aims to use a new method to assess corrosion in concrete in the hydraulic structure in many large hydraulic facilities such as dams and the destruction of large quantities of concrete according to the long-term impact of solids carried by water.
The letter included an assessment of corrosion loss of concrete using a new proposed device, and various compression resistance samples 25, 35 and 55 MPa were prepared and tested at different ages (7 and 28 days). Furthermore, the effect of the fan rotation angle was also estimated, and three different angles measuring 30, 45 and 60 degrees were evaluated experimentally and qualitatively using ANSYS. The results obtained showed that at 28 days of age and at a 60-degree angle, corrosion resistance to compression power of 35 and 55 MPa improved almost by 20 and 38% compared to 25 MB, respectively.
The results of the letter showed that experimental and digital investigations can achieve maximum corrosion loss due to the use of the 60 degree angle while the lowest level can be achieved using the 45 degree angle.
