Wasit University holds a workshop on the impact of violent video games on children
The Women's Empowerment Unit at Wasit University, in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts, held a workshop on the impact of violent video games on children in the presence of the President of Wasit University, Prof. Dr. Mazen Al-Hasani, Mrs. Nadia Ali Marwah, responsible for women's empowerment in the governorate, and a number of personalities interested in this matter from inside and outside the university.
The workshop, in which a number of Wasit University teachers lectured, included a discussion of the emergence of electronic games and the extent to which adolescents and children are attached to them because they offer fun and excitement in a pleasant way, and the more advanced the technologies used in their manufacture, the more young people are attached to them
It dealt with this phenomenon and its negative effects, especially the increase in intensity and violence in the behavior of adolescents as a result of spending a long time in front of those games,
The effects of violent games in this regard indicated that children and adolescents who spend a lot of time in front of video games do not have full self-control and control, as well as their tendency to cheat and sharpness in dealing.
