About the University
Wasit University strives to achieve excellence in university education and scientific research by building a comprehensive quality management system for its colleges, administrative, technical, and scientific departments, and research centers within an environment open to innovation and supported by a robust infrastructure capable of fostering communication and academic interaction. The university aims to provide the requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate education, preparing competent citizens qualified to fulfill their duties, advance their country, and contribute positively to scientific research. Furthermore, it offers programs related to economic growth and development in various scientific fields to serve the local community, invest its resources, strengthen its cultural identity, and preserve its ethical and social values. Through continuous evaluation of the outputs of the educational process, our beloved university, approaching its 20th year, comprises 15 colleges: the College of Education for Humanities, the College of Administration and Economics, the College of Science, the College of Engineering, the College of Law, the College of Medicine, the College of Dentistry, the College of Veterinary Medicine, the College of Arts, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the College of Education for Pure Sciences, the College of Agriculture, the College of Basic Education, the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, and the College of Fine Arts. In addition, there are four scientific centers: the Computer and Information Technology Center, the Continuing Education Center, the Ibn Sina Center, and the Cultural Center, as well as the Central Library.
