About the Division

The Government Contracts Division at the University of Wasit was established on 2 March 2009, pursuant to the Council of Ministers Resolution No. (12S/166) dated 7 February 2008, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Letter No. (3/939) dated 23 March 2008. The Division serves as the competent administrative body responsible for managing, organizing, and implementing all public procurement and government contracting procedures within the University in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.

Administratively, the Division reports directly to the President of the University of Wasit under Ministerial Order No. (4/11/H/1972) dated 11 October 2023. Technically, it operates under the supervision of the Government Contracts Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Government Contracts Directorate at the Federal Ministry of Planning, ensuring compliance with unified procurement policies, regulations, and government contracting procedures.

Since its establishment, the Division has played a pivotal role in supporting the University's operational and investment plans by efficiently managing procurement and public contracting activities. It is committed to promoting transparency, integrity, accountability, and efficiency in the management of public funds while adhering to the principles of good governance and institutional excellence.

The Government Contracts Division was established as the specialized administrative body responsible for regulating all procurement and contracting activities at the University of Wasit, ensuring full compliance with applicable laws while safeguarding public funds and supporting institutional development projects.
