Assistant Lecturer Diaa Subaih, a faculty member at the College of Fine Arts, University of Wasit, has published a scholarly research paper entitled “The Syrian Events and Their Security and Political Repercussions on Iraq after 2011.” The study examines the developments associated with the Syrian crisis since its outbreak in 2011 and analyzes their impact on the Iraqi context.
The research highlights the major security challenges that emerged as a consequence of the Syrian events, particularly their effects on Iraqi border security and domestic stability. It also explores their implications for Iraq’s political landscape, regional relations, and the strategic balance of power in the region.
Furthermore, the study reviews the key transformations and developments that contributed in reshaping Iraq’s security and political environment in the years following the Syrian crisis. Employing an analytical approach, the research seeks to interpret the nature of regional interactions and their influence on Iraq, while identifying the security and political outcomes generated by these developments.
