During his meeting with the Deputy Governor of Wasit, the President of Wasit University, Prof. Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Aqabi, emphasized the importance of joint cooperation in strengthening occupational safety measures.

Prof. Al-Aqabi received Dr. Saad Al-Awadi, Deputy Governor for Civil Defense Affairs, and Brigadier Mohsen Ali Jaafar, in the presence of the University’s Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sabeeh Lafta Al-Zubaidi. The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between the university, the local government, and the Civil Defense Directorate in the field of public safety and preventive measures.

The University President reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to providing a safe academic environment for students and faculty members, praising the efforts of the Civil Defense in developing emergency response plans and evacuation training.

For his part, the Deputy Governor commended the university’s interest in this vital field, expressing readiness to provide full support through specialized training workshops and technical equipment to ensure the protection of lives and property.
