As part of its ongoing efforts to foster a safe academic environment in line with international safety standards, Wasit University has announced a series of upgrades to its civil defense system across its colleges.
Professor Mahmoud Arak, Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, stated that the college has introduced advanced early-warning and fire-extinguishing systems, noting: “Work is underway to activate a modern early-warning system, in addition to a state-of-the-art fire suppression system that ensures rapid response and minimizes risks in the event of an emergency.”
Meanwhile, Professor Ali Hussein Shaya, Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, emphasized the college’s preventive measures, affirming: “All buildings containing sandwich panels, which are highly flammable, have been removed. The new facilities will be constructed in accordance with global safety standards and civil defense requirements.”
These initiatives form part of a comprehensive plan by Wasit University to elevate safety levels across its campuses, reflecting its firm commitment to protecting faculty, staff, and students, while ensuring readiness to handle emergencies with efficiency and professionalism.
