First: An Introduction

The Quality Assurance and University Performance Department is one of the core institutional units within the university. It is responsible for developing and enhancing the quality of academic and administrative processes, and ensuring compliance with national and international standards. The department oversees institutional performance evaluation, promotes a culture of quality, and monitors accreditation and university ranking systems, contributing to continuous improvement and strengthening the university’s academic reputation and competitiveness at both national and international levels.

  7. Providing support in the field of quality assurance and academic accreditation to all colleges, centers, and various departments of the university.

1. University Performance Evaluation Division

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • [Performance Assessment] Evaluating performance within the university and its colleges, and taking necessary measures to identify performance levels and quality.
  • [Institutional Data Management] Establishing a comprehensive database for all activities of the university and its colleges to monitor the development of the educational process.
  • [College Performance Support] Assisting university colleges through their internal performance evaluation units to conduct studies aimed at improving their performance.
  • [Field & Market Studies] Conducting and participating in field studies to align learning outcomes with labor market needs and providing guidance in this aspect.
  • [Program & Outcomes Evaluation] Ensuring the achievement of college goals by taking appropriate measures to evaluate programs and outcomes using various measurement tools.
  • [Advisory & Technical Support] Providing technical consultation to the university and its colleges in designing and implementing performance evaluation and quality assurance systems.
  • [Periodic Performance Reporting] Preparing periodic reports on the division's activities and submitting them to the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the university presidency.
  • [Self-Assessment Planning & Follow-up] Organizing, planning, and following up on the self-assessment of the university’s activities, colleges, and various programs.
  • [Data Analysis & Development] Collecting and analyzing self-assessment study results, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and offering necessary proposals to improve performance.
  • [Additional Support Tasks] Executing any other tasks assigned to the division by the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department to support institutional evaluation.

2. Accreditation Division

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • [Standards Compliance - Part 1] Monitoring the application of national standards for Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and international standards (ISO).
  • [Advanced Standards - Part 1] Following up on the implementation of ISO 17025 for testing and calibration laboratories and ISO 15189 for medical laboratories when applied.
  • [Equipment Management - Part 1] Monitoring laboratory equipment coding and maintenance procedures.
  • [Calibration Coordination - Part 1] Following up on the implementation of calibration programs for equipment and devices with relevant authorities.
  • [SOP Documentation - Part 1] Tracking the implementation and documentation of approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) records in laboratories.
  • [Institutional Coordination - Part 1] Coordinating workflow with various university formations and handling responses to ministerial correspondence.
  • [Field Quality Evaluation - Part 1] Conducting field inspection visits to evaluate and maintain laboratory quality.
  • [Internal Audit & Inspection - Part 1] Forming internal audit teams to inspect random samples of scientific laboratories to ensure the efficiency of tests and compliance with GLP and standard procedures.
  • [Standards Compliance - Part 2] Monitoring the application of national standards for Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and international standards (ISO 17025).
  • [Advanced Standards - Part 2] Monitoring the implementation of ISO 27001 regarding information security for computer laboratories when applied.
  • [Equipment Management - Part 2] Monitoring laboratory equipment coding and maintenance procedures (Secondary Verification).
  • [Calibration Coordination - Part 2] Monitoring calibration programs for devices and equipment with relevant bodies (Secondary Verification).
  • [SOP Documentation - Part 2] Monitoring the application and documentation of approved standard operating records in laboratories (Secondary Verification).
  • [Field Quality Evaluation - Part 2] Carrying out field inspection visits to evaluate laboratory quality (Secondary Verification).
  • [Technical & Statistical Analysis] Forming internal audit teams for random samples of technical laboratories to ensure compliance with laboratory standards, and preparing statistics and studies on scientific laboratories.

3. Quality Assurance Division

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • [Internal Quality System Development] Monitoring and implementing quality plans to build an internal quality system that enhances the educational process within the university.
  • [Monitoring & Compliance Programs] Spreading the culture of quality among faculty members, students, and all workers regarding the importance of quality assurance and academic accreditation mechanisms.
  • [Periodic Quality Reporting] Establishing regular inspection and follow-up programs to implement quality assurance and accreditation standards.
  • [Educational Process Quality Control] Controlling the quality of the educational components, which include: (The student - University infrastructure - Curricula - Faculty member - Academic research).
  • [Academic Support & Guidance] Providing advice, consultation, and guidance to colleges that have not achieved the required quality assurance levels in areas slated for accreditation.
  • [Periodic Performance Reporting] Preparing periodic follow-up reports on the division's activities and submitting them to the main Quality Assurance and Accreditation department.
  • [Annual Self-Assessment] Preparing the annual self-assessment reports for the colleges.
  • [Institutional Data Management] Creating and maintaining an integrated database for all colleges.
  • [Future Development Tasks] Executing any other tasks assigned by the Quality Assurance department at the university presidency to enhance the quality of the educational process in the future.

4. Rankings Unit

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • [Ranking Indicators Monitoring] Monitoring indicators and criteria of international, regional, and local university rankings such as Shanghai, Times, QS, etc., and analyzing their requirements.
  • [Data Collection & Verification] Gathering statistical data and required performance indicators in coordination with the university’s colleges and relevant bodies.
  • [Ranking Data Submission] Auditing and updating data related to university rankings and submitting them within specified timelines to accredited organizations.
  • [Performance Analysis] Analyzing the university’s results in different rankings, and identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • [Ranking Reports Preparation] Preparing periodic reports regarding the university's position in rankings and submitting them to the university presidency and the department.
  • [Improvement Strategies for Rankings] Presenting proposals and development plans that contribute to improving the university’s rank in local and international classifications.
  • [Institutional Coordination] Coordinating with relevant divisions and units (Quality Assurance, Performance Evaluation, Accreditation) to ensure the integration of data and indicators.
  • [Ranking Awareness & Development] Raising awareness about the importance of university rankings among colleges and departments and their role in enhancing academic reputation and competitiveness.
  • [Methodology Tracking] Monitoring new updates and modifications in ranking methodologies and adapting the university’s policies accordingly.
