Introduction
The department was established since the founding of our prestigious university in 2003 and is located in the university’s main building. It is one of the active departments of the university’s main administration, working to connect Wasit University with local, Arab, regional and international universities through holding many scientific and cultural cooperation programs, which has enabled the university to join the ranks of scientific, artistic, cultural and technological development.
Vision
Wasit University keeps pace with and interacts with reputable local and international universities and cooperates with other reputable institutions inside and outside Iraq.

Openness and communication with reputable universities and related institutions, concluding fruitful scientific programs in various fields, exchanging experiences, and facilitating and encouraging academic, scientific and cultural exchange between the staff and students of Wasit University and other universities.
Objectives :
1- Facilitating the procedures for sending students and researchers from the university to reputable universities.
2- Communicating with reputable and recognized universities for the purpose of establishing scientific, academic, and cultural cooperation programs.
3- Facilitating the procedures for sending faculty members and their academic interaction through participation in conferences, research missions, joint supervision, visiting professorship, postdoctoral studies or sabbatical leave.
4- Encouraging lectures, joint scientific research, and the formation of specialized research teams for researchers from outside Wasit University.
5- Seeking scholarships.
6- Coordinating initiatives related to cultural activities.

The Missions and Cultural Relations Department includes:
- Department of Overseas Students Affairs
- Cultural Relations Division
Department tasks:
- A. Concludes memoranda of understanding and cooperation programs with local, Arab, regional and international universities recognized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
- Hosting professors from outside the university to participate in conferences, seminars, and scientific exhibitions.
- Follow up on the release and commencement of the student sent for study and his study status, his study extensions with the study attachés outside Iraq.
- Following up on and issuing orders for sending faculty members to participate in conferences and various scientific activities.

Wasit University Plagiarism Center:
The department works to receive requests and transactions for the extraction of letters and theses from private-expense students who obtained their degrees from outside Iraq, for the purpose of completing the process of equivalency and evaluation of their degrees.
International students :
Residents and foreign students are eligible to apply for admission to Wasit University colleges, subject to specific conditions announced by the Ministry. Recently, the Wasit University Council approved the admission of foreign and resident students to the academic programs and scientific specializations available at the university .
