With the start of the new academic year, the Forensic Evidence Department at Wasit University has commenced preparing comprehensive field training kits for its students, as part of the department’s plan to develop practical skills and enhance the applied aspect of field courses.
The kits include fully equipped tools for fingerprint and forensic evidence collection, such as powders and lifting tapes, along with paper and plastic envelopes for sample collection and preservation, all of which are manufactured in-house by the department.
Specialized kits have also been prepared, including:
Drugs and alcohol testing kit
Crime scene photography kit
Fingerprint and ballistics comparison kit
Contaminants and radiation testing kit
These kits were distributed to student groups in the Crime Scene Investigation and Forensic Evidence courses, enabling them to gain hands-on experience in a training environment that simulates real-life forensic work.
> This initiative is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen practical training and develop students’ technical capabilities, keeping pace with the latest scientific methods in investigation and forensic evidence analysis.
