A group of students from the College of Medicine – Wasit University (10 students) participated in a training course on Peer Assisted Learning, organised by Al-Amid University in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians, on 10–11 September 2025.
The first day of the course included scientific lectures on the concept of peer education and the role of students in it, with a presentation of the positives, challenges and ways to address them. The second day was devoted to practical experiences, with each participating college giving a practical presentation to the evaluation committee. Colleges of Medicine from the following universities participated in the programme: Al-Amid, Fallujah, Sulaymaniyah, Erbil, Jaber Bin Hayyan, Anbar, Al-Kafeel, Baghdad, Basra, and Wasit.
The students of the College of Medicine at Wasit University distinguished themselves with their outstanding performance, ranking second among the participating Iraqi universities, an achievement that adds to the faculty’s record of supporting its students’ activities and highlighting their competence in scientific and educational forums.
