Vice President for Scientific Affairs at Wasit University Chairs Panel on the Future Urban Vision of Baghdad at the First Arab Architecture Festival

On the second day of the festival, the second panel discussion, titled “Urban Visions for the Future of Baghdad”, was held at Qalb Al-Alam Hotel, bringing together a distinguished group of officials, architects, and urban planning experts.


The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Sabeih Lafta Al-Zubaidi, Vice President for Scientific Affairs at Wasit University, and featured the participation of HE Binakin Rikani, Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, Eng. Ammar Mousa, Mayor of Baghdad, Eng. Dhu Al-Fiqar Al-Maksousi, President of the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate, architects Akram Al-Aqeeli and Manhal Haboubi, and Drs. Mohammed Al-A’sam and Mohammed Al-Imam.


The panel addressed key urban and architectural challenges facing Baghdad, while presenting practical strategies and visionary approaches to foster a modern urban future that aligns with sustainable development goals and preserves the city’s historical and cultural identity.
