The College of Arts at Wasit University organized a three-day training course titled “Philosophy and Sustainability” for university students.
The course, delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jinan Mutlak Kadhem, Asst. Lect. Saja Hadi Thayeb, and Asst. Lect. Zaman Hassan Khafif, aimed to highlight the role of philosophy in promoting awareness of sustainability issues, develop critical thinking about the human-environment relationship, and instill values of environmental justice and responsible consumption.
Topics covered the importance of philosophical thought in forming an integrated life vision based on values, rationality, and ethical responsibility, and its role in addressing contemporary challenges related to environmental protection and sustainable development.
The course concluded with an emphasis on the integration of philosophical thought with sustainability concepts to guide human behavior toward more environmentally respectful practices, and the role of media students in promoting this culture and raising awareness of environmental and sustainable development issues through media platforms.
