The College of Engineering at Wasit University organized a course titled “Water: Its Secrets and Challenges”, attended by faculty members, staff, and students.
The course, presented by Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Redha Farhan, Asst. Lect. Nagham Qasim Sherry, Asst. Lect. Shatha Ali Mardan, and Asst. Lect. Baneen Atta Hussein, emphasized that water is not merely a natural element but a divine blessing essential for life and the development of the Earth, as highlighted in the Qur’an.
The course highlighted water’s critical role in modern sciences, particularly in mechanical engineering, including design and operation of cooling systems, boilers, and power generation plants, as well as its central function in heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
By integrating Qur’anic guidance with scientific and engineering knowledge, the course illustrated the importance of preserving water from wastefulness and demonstrated that studying water from both religious and scientific perspectives opens broad opportunities for sustainable development and human benefit.
