The College of Dentistry Conducts a Field Visit to the Childhood Rehabilitation Institute in Wasit Province as Part of Its Community Service Programs Supporting Special Groups

Under the patronage of the President of Wasit University, Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Aqabi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Assistant Professor Dr. Hani Mohsen Khulaif, the University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Dentistry, in cooperation with the Psychological Counseling Division of Wasit University Presidency and the Volunteer Work Unit, organized a field visit to the Childhood Rehabilitation Institute in Wasit Province as part of its programs aimed at serving the community and supporting special groups.

The visit included providing health and awareness guidance on oral and dental care, as well as distributing educational posters designed in a simple and age-appropriate manner for the targeted children. An initial dental examination was also conducted for the children by the college staff and students to identify cases requiring further treatment and follow-up.

In this context, a number of cases were referred to the teaching clinics of the College of Dentistry to receive the necessary treatment within the available resources, reaffirming the college’s humanitarian and practical role in serving the local community.

The visit was warmly welcomed by the institute’s administration and contributed to enhancing health awareness among the children, while also reinforcing the values of social responsibility and community engagement.
