Wasit University Strengthens Its Partnership with the Journalists Syndicate and Expands Support for Students and Graduates

As part of its efforts to enhance academic and media engagement, a delegation from the Department of Media in the College of Arts at Wasit University, headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Maytham Faleh Al-Moussawi, and including Dr. Hamza Al-Atabi and Assistant Lecturer Mustafa Abdullah Kazem, visited the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate at its headquarters in Baghdad, where they were received by the Syndicate President, Mr. Muayad Al-Lami.


The meeting addressed several key topics, foremost among them the inclusion of media literacy within the curricula of the Ministry of Education, given its importance in developing students’ media awareness. The delegation also extended an official invitation to the Syndicate President to attend the Third International Media Conference organized by the Department of Media at Wasit University.


The visit additionally resulted in securing endorsement letters for a number of vocational-track graduates, facilitating their admission into the Department of Media under available exceptions, in support of their academic pursuits and interest in joining the media field.


Mr. Al-Lami expressed his warm welcome and cooperation with the academic delegation, affirming the Syndicate’s readiness to support the scientific and professional programs offered by the department. In turn, the delegation expressed their appreciation to the Syndicate President for his continuous support of academic institutions.


This visit comes within the department’s strategy to strengthen partnerships with media institutions and to develop a robust educational environment that keeps pace with professional requirements and modern media technologies.
