The meeting was organized by the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Safety and Security Unit (CBRN), and attended by the Scientific Assistant to the University President, Prof. Dr. Sabeeh Lafta Al-Zubaidi, along with a number of specialists and concerned staff.
The meeting emphasized the importance of providing comprehensive safety and security requirements for all laboratory users, including students and academic staff, and of preparing a safe laboratory environment that ensures personal protection during scientific experiments and research activities. This approach supports the quality of education and scientific research within the university.
Participants stressed the necessity of adhering to approved occupational safety regulations and providing essential protective equipment to reduce potential risks and promote a culture of prevention and responsibility in university laboratories, in line with national and international laboratory safety standards.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Al-Zubaidi reaffirmed the University Presidency’s support for postgraduate students by providing modern laboratory equipment and devices, enabling them to complete their research effectively and strengthening the university’s research and innovation pathways.
The attendees also highlighted the importance of continuous laboratory monitoring and organizing specialized training workshops in chemical, biological, and radiological safety, aiming to raise preventive awareness among students and faculty members and maintain a safe and sustainable university environment.
