Wasit University organized its Fifth International Exhibition of Patents for Entrepreneurship, with wide participation from more than  inventors and researchers from inside and outside Iraq. The exhibition was held in cooperation with Al-Manar University and with active participation from the Development Bank, alongside representatives from the banking sector and other relevant institutions.

The exhibition aimed to promote a culture of creativity and innovation, strengthen entrepreneurship, and support the transformation of research projects and scientific ideas into practical, market-ready applications that contribute to economic development and address community needs.

The President of Wasit University, Prof. Dr. Abbas Lafta Al-Aqabi, emphasized that the exhibition represents a practical response to the strategic plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which focuses on supporting creative minds and transforming their ideas into tangible outcomes that advance Iraq’s scientific and economic landscape.

He added that the exhibition reflects the University’s commitment to building effective partnerships with the banking and investment sectors, enhancing opportunities for funding innovations and supporting entrepreneurial projects, and establishing an integrated ecosystem for innovation and applied research.

The exhibition showcased a wide range of patented inventions and research-based projects across various scientific and technological fields, highlighting the innovative capabilities of researchers and inventors and reinforcing the University’s role in supporting research excellence, societal impact, and international university rankings.

This event represents a significant milestone in Wasit University's efforts to strengthen its academic and research presence locally and internationally, and to contribute to sustainable development and a knowledge-based economy.
