As part of continuous academic monitoring and in line with its commitment to supporting postgraduate students, a scientific committee from the Department of Soil Sciences and Water Resources at Wasit University conducted a field visit to postgraduate student Duaa Kareem Hussein to review the progress of her research work and follow up on its practical aspects.
The visit was carried out within the framework of her research entitled “Assessment of Heavy Metal Pollution in Agricultural Soils and the Possibility of Their Remediation in Selected Soils of Wasit Governorate,” supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Mahdi Wasmi. The field visit included research sites in Dhi Qar Governorate / Al-Rifai District, where the committee examined sampling procedures and discussed key scientific observations related to the study.
This field follow-up aims to enhance the quality of scientific research by strengthening the link between theoretical knowledge and practical application, and by supporting efforts to address environmental and agricultural challenges, particularly those related to soil pollution and the sustainability of natural resources.
Such initiatives underscore the importance of academic supervision and field-based evaluation in advancing research quality and reflect Wasit University’s commitment to applied research that serves the community and contributes to sustainable development.
