Dr. Raghdaan Mohsen Namoos, faculty member at the College of Engineering – Wasit University, participated in the Eurocorr 2025 International Conference, hosted in Stavanger, Norway, with the attendance of more than 1,200 researchers and experts worldwide. Eurocorr is recognized as one of the largest global scientific platforms specializing in metal corrosion.
During the conference sessions, Dr. Namoos delivered a scientific lecture introducing a novel approach to erosive wear testing of metals, developed in collaboration with the University of Sheffield (UK).
The new method is based on the innovative application of Electrochemical Noise (EN) to identify the true mechanisms of erosive wear without applying external potential or current to the test cell. This unique approach enhances the accuracy and reliability of results while minimizing the possibility of misinterpretation in such complex evaluations.
The method was successfully applied to a new High Entropy Alloy (HEA), demonstrating significant potential in advancing the understanding of wear and corrosion resistance in these next-generation materials.
This participation not only highlighted the scientific contribution of Wasit University in advanced materials research but also underscored the university’s role in enhancing international visibility, strengthening global research collaboration, and contributing to academic ranking indicators through impactful innovations.
